Civic Creative Base Tokyo

Born in Tokyo in 1984, Watanabe Shiori graduated with a degree in sculpture from the Tokyo University of the Arts Faculty of Fine Arts in 2015, and went on to complete graduate studies at the same university in 2017. With a focus on totality, her practice examines the boundaries between the phenomena of assembled individual entities and their associated bodies. Watanabe connects capitalism, globalism, and other such issues inherent in individual species in ecosystems with themes like reproduction and feminism, exploring the nature of ecology in a broad sense encompassing human society. Her major exhibitions include Inn (2024, Shiseido Gallery), BLUE (2024, SACS), MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2023 (Warehouse TERRADA), Toto-tarari-tarari-ratarari Agari-rarari-to (2022, Shinjuku Kabuki-cho Noh Stage), and Bebe (2021, WHITEHOUSE).Last Updated: 2026.04
