Sato Tomoko

Born in Nagano Prefecture in 1990, Sato Tomoko completed graduate studies in film and new media at Tokyo University of the Arts. In her practice, she constructs narratives out of extensive research, and creates works centered on lectures and storytelling. Her recent work and exhibitions include Index for Obake Tokyo (2021–, Theater Commons), the 14th Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions (2022, Tokyo Photographic Art Museum), Plastic Utopia: Our New Ecosystem (2025, Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art), and The NAM Collection in Dialogue: Reflections and Extensions (2026, Nagano Prefectural Art Museum).
