Shimada Mei

Born in 1993 in Kyoto Prefecture, Shimada Mei majored in Visual Communication Design and Global Management at Handong Global University in Pohang, South Korea. She graduated from Musashino Art University with a master’s degree in arts policy and management. She joined Arts Council Tokyo (Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture) in 2019. Shimada was involved in the opening of Civic Creative Base Tokyo in 2022. Her major projects to date include masayume (2021), Super Wall Art Tokyo (2021), “Hello from the Global Creative Laboratories! Vol. 01: Laboratory-driven Cultural Facilities” (2023), and SIDE CORE’s rode work ver. under city (2023).Last Updated: 2023.08
