TOKYO (UN)REAL ESTATE

Summary

TOKYO (UN)REAL ESTATE is a modernology project that records the city’s highly varied lifestyles through 3D scans, and then decodes the nature of contemporary society and its changes by documenting and reflecting on that life-sized version of humanity. Available as an open-source creative asset for games, manga, animations, and more, the collected 3D data will also be exhibited as a history of lifestyle in Tokyo, showcasing the diverse ways in which people live in the city. In addition, the project will explore approaches and possibilities for digital archives as well as rule design through lectures and workshops.

CCBT Art Incubation Program

One of CCBT’s core programs, the Art Incubation Program provides opportunities for creative talent to undertake new projects and makes those processes accessible to the public, facilitating forms of artistic expression, exploration, and action that change our city for the better. Selected through an open call, five artist fellows will act as CCBT partners, developing their projects, making the creative process public, exhibiting the results, and holding workshops and talks.
