Tabei Katsuhiko

After graduating from university, Tabei Katsuhiko worked as a mold designer for a plastic parts manufacturer. In 2007, he completed postgraduate studies at the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences. In his subsequent roles as systems manager at IAMAS, technician at the Kyoto University of the Arts Ultra Factory, assistant at the Tokyo University of the Arts Art Media Center, and technical director at Super Factory, Tabei has employed digital fabrication equipment as well as woodworking and metalworking techniques. Harnessing his experience of making media art from his university days, he serves as director of MeAM studio, undertaking exhibition installation and media art restoration and maintenance. In 2022, he was involved in launching Civic Creative Base Tokyo as its technical director.Last Updated: 2023.03
