ryo kishi

Born in Tokyo, kishi ryo completed graduate studies at the University of Tokyo. After a three-year dormancy, he launched his practice as an artist in 2014. His experimental projects focus on natural phenomena instead of technology or tools. His work to date includes dis:play(bias) (2017), a spatial display harnessing polarization, and the kinetic sculpture ObOrO (2016), which applies the Coandă effect. Kishi has shown his work at Ars Electronica and other festivals and exhibitions at both home and abroad. In 2017, he won a New Face Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival.Last Updated: 2023.08
