Asami Kazuhiko + God Scorpion + yoshidayamar AUGMENTED SITUATION1.2 D
In AUGMENTED SITUATION1.2 D, participants walk around the city and use their phones to read the QR codes on the pamphlet to view augmented and virtual reality artworks.
Nine artists from architecture, music, and other fields harness the unique qualities and possibilities of AR to create what you can’t normally see in urban space: dynamic architecture, the movements of people and history across time and space, and visualizations of sound and air pollution. Viewing an artwork through a phone screen enables us to rediscover aspects of reality and the cityscape we don’t normally see.
In conjunction with the exhibition, a performance tour will take place two times as an opportunity to experience media art through the reality of the body. Dancers serve as guides for participants moving between the locations of each artwork in the city. The result opens up a new form of extended reality in which AR art intersects with dance, and experience mediated through a phone screen intersects with direct experience in person.
