AUGMENTED SITUATION1.2 D
Asami Kazuhiko + God Scorpion + yoshidayamar
This extended reality exhibition took place on the streets of Shibuya in 2023. Participants visited locations in the ward listed on a pamphlet and then used their phone to read a QR code so they could experience an augmented reality artwork right there in the city. At CCBT Compass, the experience expands from Shibuya to encompass Yurakucho and STS. Move around the exhibition with the performers and experience extended reality directly through the body, and watch the pictures made in a workshop become augmented reality art. Artists from various other fields like architecture and music also take part in this truly hybrid, participatory exhibition. Enjoy the vivid forms of expression unique to extended reality that connects the city and infosphere.

FORMING CIRCLE / FORMING SPHERE
Tokolo Asao + Hiramoto Tomoki
Combining three different types of quadrangle, the kumi-ichimatsu-mon traditional checkered pattern became popular in Japan during the early modern period. Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic emblem designer Tokolo Asao treats these quadrangles as individual units that fit together as a group according to certain rules, creating an expression of simultaneous diversity and harmony. During his time as a CCBT artist fellow, Tokolo worked with spatial designer Hiramoto Tomoki and video designer Iguchi Kota to reconfigure an original kumi-ichimatsu-mon pattern into a light and shadow sculpture. At CCBT Compass, the spheres made with 120 and 122 quadrangles have been updated with mirrored surfaces, and developed into an installation in which light and shadow diffuse across the space.
[Archival Exhibition] See, Touch, Hear: Playing by Sensing
SnoezeLab.
SnoezeLab. held the exhibition See, Touch, Hear: Playing by Sensing at CCBT as a comprehensive showcase of sensory rooms and immersive, interactive content in Japan, with a focus on the Snoezelen multisensory environments that are used mainly at welfare facilities in the country. The exhibition included a cafe in which young people with disabilities and various characteristics served visitors, and created an environment in which the three elements of cared for, carer, and space intermeshed. CCBT Compass features documentation of the exhibition as well as examples of Snoezelen and related products.
[Archival Exhibition] Algorithmic Couture Alliance: Digital and Fashion Dialogues
Synflux
During its time as a CCBT fellow, Synflux conducted research on digital fashion diversity that intersects with virtual spaces as well as physical experiences and manufacturing. The results of the project were presented online (https://aca.synflux.io) and at the exhibition Algorithmic Couture Alliance. This showcased the multivalent possibilities of digital fashion through conversations with Tokyo-based, internationally active designers and brands. Synflux also held a workshop and talks featuring specialists in various fields and members of the public. At CCBT Compass, visitors can view documentation of Synflux’s activities as well as the diagrams and workshop output that resulted from its research.
