A hub for the public to explore socially engaged creativity at the intersection of art and digital technology, Civic Creative Base Tokyo relocates from Shibuya to Harajuku in December 2025.
Since opening in 2022, CCBT has developed a space where participants (who it calls players) including artists, designers, engineers, and researchers can bring together their diverse expertise and perspectives. Through collaboration with these participants, CCBT has undertaken a wide variety of creative experiments in the city of Tokyo.
The reopening in Harajuku is marked by a range of events, including exhibitions, performances, talks, and workshops, all centering around the slogan of “The City Demands Imagination.” The artist fellows will also continue to present their activities and exhibit works.
