Civic Creative Base Tokyo
Born in Tokyo in 2007, Sano Haruna is a first-year student in the Faculty of Policy Management at Keio University. Inspired by a regional study exchange program in Kyotango, Kyoto, Sano developed an interest in visualizing the memory of place and launched the digital archive “Local Log” in 2024. She is currently involved in collecting place-based memories and documenting life histories through interviews with residents in the Shimokitazawa neighborhood of Tokyo. Drawing on the theories of Japanese sociologist Horikawa Saburo, Sano investigates how spatial design can evoke a sense of place and shift perception from space to place through narrative. Her works include “Memories of Shimokitazawa” (2024), “Voice of the Akabane Whale” (2024), and “[E]scape—Before Memory Escapes” (2025).Last Updated: 2025.08
