Shibamura Hibari

Shibamura Hibari works across design and mechanical engineering. Moving beyond the conventional boundaries of robotics, she pursues original forms and designs that embody new visions of the world of robot design. Working with a range of materials, including 3D-printed components, metal, and wood, she combines mechanical design optimized for robotic functionality with a distinctive aesthetic approach that has received international recognition. In January 2025, she created Mi-Mo at Jizai, Inc., which won the Best Robots of CES 2025 Award. In July 2025, her project was selected for the first 2025 intake of the MITOU Advanced Program organized by Japan’s Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA). In September 2025, Shibamura created and exhibited one of the world’s largest QDD walking robots at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.Last Updated: 2026.08
