Kuruma Yutetsu

After receiving his Ph.D. from University of Tokyo, he studied at University of RomaTre (Italy), University of Tokyo, and Earth-Life Science institute. From 2019, he organizes his research team in the current position. His research focus is to create artificial living cells by assembling non-living molecules and genes inside membrane capsule. So far he and his research team succeeded to create a photosynthetic artificial cell that produce energy from light and synthesize proteins, and a fundamental biological system that enables of self-growing of artificial cells. He loves communicating scientific findings to non-scientific circles by making T-shirt, cooking recipe for artificial cells, and lecture in a Temple in Kyoto. Last Updated: 2024.12
