After graduating with a degree in theology from Sophia University, Kishine Saki worked in public relations at Issey Miyake. She completed her master’s degree in death and life studies at Sophia University’s Graduate School of Applied Religious Studies, where she deepened her interest in issues about body and culture related to fashion. She is currently an assistant professor at the Professional Institute of International Fashion. Kishine’s core research centers on the relationship between fashion and views on life and death in contemporary society, and studying representations of death in high fashion and the transformation of burial garments.Last Updated: 2026.06
