Civic Creative Base Tokyo
After completing graduate studies at Tohoku University of Art and Design in 1999 and then a stint as a research student at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Hasegawa Ryuzo joined the EX Research Institute. In addition to urban planning master plans, his work included adding values and rethinking the functions of cities, mainly in terms of environment and community development as well as area management. In 2014, he founded FRONTYARD, and has been involved in area management strategizing for central Sapporo and Tokyo’s Otemachi-Marunouchi-Yurakucho district, and running a network for area management organizations all over Japan. Since 2022, Hasegawa has been in charge of management for YAU, an art urbanism project in Yurakucho exploring co-creativity between artists and the city.Last Updated: 2024.08
