Harada Kaoruko

Harada is a graduate student researching “Agri Landscape” in the X-Design Program at Keio University’s Graduate School of Media and Governance. Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, she studied landscape design as a member of the Ishikawa Hajime Laboratory at Keio University. During her undergraduate studies, she took a year off from university to work as an agricultural intern at Food Hub Project Inc. in Kamiyama, Tokushima Prefecture. This experience sparked Harada’s interest in agriculture and led her to coin the term “makanai farmland” for farmland cultivated primarily for farmers’ own consumption, exploring and proposing ways to recognize the beauty of these agricultural landscapes. She currently presents her research at academic conferences while pursuing design and research projects centered on agriculture and landscape.Last Updated: 2026.08
