With a practice rooted in computers and programming technologies, Furudate Ken explores systems and perception across various mediums and fields, including sound, video, electronics, and textiles. He is the co-organizer of the sound art project The SINE WAVE ORCHESTRA since 2002 and a member of Dumb Type from 2013. Furudate has collaborated with the Nishijin textile manufacturer Hosoo on the project Quasicrystal since 2015, and with HATRA on the project Phenotype since 2025. His work Pulses/Grains/Phase/Moiré (2018) won a Grand Prize at the 22nd Japan Media Arts Festival. The SINE WAVE ORCHESTRA stay (2017–) received an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica 2019. His percussion ensemble piece with Hino Koshiro, Chronograffit (2025), received the 25th Keizo Saji Award.Last Updated: 2026.07
