Alter3

Alter3 was jointly developed by the University of Tokyo Takashi Ikegami Lab and Ishiguro Hiroshi’s Intelligent Robotics Laboratory at Osaka University. The third in the Alter series, this version features a design with more humanlike cognition and movement. By integrating large language models, the recent focus of research involving Alter3 is autonomy, physicality and self-consciousness in humanoid robots. Through such activities as collaborations with musicians and noh theater performers, and appearances at international exhibitions, Alter3 spurs people to think about the relationship between robots and life.
