Abe Masashi

After completing a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Tokyo University of Science, Abe joined the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), where he has since consistently worked on Earth observation satellite projects. For GOSAT-2, a satellite designed to observe greenhouse gases, he was responsible for electrical systems and quality assurance. Abe is currently engaged in research for a new Earth observation project while exploring effective ways to make large-scale issues, such as the global environment and climate change, feel more immediate and relevant to individuals. His interests outside work include film, books, manga and anime, fashion, fishing, and Muay Thai. Last Updated: 2026.08
