Hori Jun

Born in Hyogo in 1977, Hori Jun is a journalist and CEO of 8bitNews and the Institute for Putting Me into Words. After graduating from Rikkyo University’s College of Arts with a degree in German literature, he joined NHK in 2001. After stints as a reporter for News Watch 9 and a newscaster for Biz Sports, he launched the citizen journalism online news platform 8bitNews in 2012 and left NHK the following year. He currently serves as the host for TOKYO MX’s Jun Hori Live Junction radio show and appears on the ABEMA TV show ABEMA Prime. Since 2019, Hori has been a visiting researcher at Waseda University. He directed the film I Do Not Allow Division (2020). His books include Disasters and Fake News (Shueisha International Shinsho, 2025).Last Updated: 2026.04
