Yoshida Hiroshi

Yoshida Hiroshi is a professor at the Graduate School of Humanities and Sociology and Faculty of Letters, University of Tokyo (Aesthetics and Art Studies Laboratory). He specializes in kansei science (aisthetics) and game studies. Prior to his current position, he was a professor at the Ritsumeikan University Graduate School of Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences. His publications include The Aesthetics of Absolute Music and Divided Germany (Seikyusha, 2015, winner of the 37th Suntory Prize for Social Sciences and Humanities), Digital Game Studies (University of Tokyo Press, 2023, winner of the 33rd Okawa Publishing Prize), and Critical Word: Game Studies (co-editor, Film Art Publishing, 2025).
