Gamze Baktir works at the intersection of speculative thought, curatorial experimentation, and artistic practice. With a background in philosophy from Boğaziçi and Keio Universities, they later pursued studies in curation through the Global Arts program and in contemporary art creation through the Global Art Practice program at Tokyo University of the Arts. They are currently a PhD student in Intermedia Arts and Sciences at Waseda University. Their work is concerned with potentialities that lie beyond and between already established categories and conventional exhibition modes, inhabiting un-defined, porous, and fluid territories. By synthesizing philosophy and plural knowledge sytems, their practice conceives alternative ways of dwelling in the world, where time, subjectivity, and space remain open to continual reconfiguration.Last Updated: 2025.08
