Tsujimoto Sakurako

Born in Tokyo in 2002, Tsujimoto Sakurako is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in architecture at the Tokyo University of Science, where she studies under Professor Ito Kaori in the Urban Planning and Urban Design Lab.Tsujimoto studied ballet from elementary school, throughout high school. The performing arts, and the arts in general, continue to serve as the basis of her creative practice. Tsujimoto’s current research critically examines urban development strategies since Japan’s period of rapid economic growth, particularly those that focus on maximizing floor space through vertical expansion. She aims to envision urban and architectural frameworks that foster a more enriched public life through culture and the artistic activities found in cities.Last Updated: 2025.08
