Kitagawa Urara

Born in Kyoto in 2001, Kitagawa Urara delves into inner emotions and struggles rooted in personal experiences and social issues to depict universal values through artistic expression. Her work conveys subtle emotional nuances and narrative depth through the use of geometric shapes, organic forms, and harmonious color palettes, and she seeks to create works with a striking presence and a lingering emotional resonance. Kitagawa is currently pursuing postgraduate studies at Kyoto Saga University of Arts Graduate School. She experiments with unconventional materials and contemporary themes to create new forms of expression that push beyond the boundaries of fixed ideas and the social norms of the times while staying grounded in the traditions of Japanese painting.Last Updated: 2025.01
