suzuko yamada architects

With a team of seven, suzuko yamada architects is led by Japanese architect Yamada Suzuko. A Tokyo native and University of California, Berkeley and Tokyo University of the Arts graduate, Yamada set up her studio in 2013 in Tokyo, having previously worked at Sou Fujimoto Architects. She currently teaches architecture at Kyoto University and Tokyo University of Science. In her work, Yamada explores a distinctly experimental architecture that has received various awards, not least from the Architectural Design Association of Nippon and Japan’s Under 35 Architects exhibition in 2020. Recent work includes a number of residential projects with designs that push the boundaries of domestic architecture.Last Updated: 2024.04
