Civic Creative Base Tokyo
Born in 1989 in Chemnitz, Germany, Simon Weckert studied new media art at Berlin University of the Arts. He likes to share knowledge on a wide range of fields, from generative design to physical computing. His focus is the digital world, including everything related to code and electronics that reflect current social circumstances, from technology-oriented investigations to discussions of topical social issues. Weckert’s works have been presented and honored at such events and venues as the Japan Media Arts Festival (Tokyo), Ars Electronica Festival (Linz, Austria), transmediale (Berlin), chi K11 (Shanghai), Lincoln Center (New York), Vitra Design Museum (Weil am Rhein, Germany), Microwave International New Media Arts Festival (Hong Kong), Museum Gunzenhauser (Chemnitz), Löwenbräukunst (Zurich), Möllerei Belval (Luxembourg), and EDF Foundation (Paris).
