Ootaka Nayuko

Born in 1982 in Chiba Prefecture, Otaka Nayuko graduated from the University of Tsukuba School of Art and Design. She was inspired to become an animator after receiving damning feedback on her graduation project at a screening event in 2005. She studied under many teachers at Laputa Art Animation School. In 2021, Otaka’s animated short was included in an NHK series of animations about real people’s wartime memories. Her prolific output also includes educational materials and commercials. She is the author of Handmade Anime: A Recipe Book (2011), which introduces how to make animation toys.Last Updated: 2023.06
