Kimura Yusuke

Kimura Yusuke’s interdisciplinary practice centers on theater, dance, and performance. After studying performing arts and moving image at Kyoto University of the Arts and media art at the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences in Gifu, he relocated to Germany in 2012. In 2013, he was the first Japanese student accepted on to the MA Solo/Dance/Authorship degree program at HZT Berlin, Kunstschule Berlin. Kimura returned to Japan in 2016. With a focus on the structures and history of his themes, media, and forms of expression, his work is characterized by its underlying disruption of the boundary between the self and others.
