Civic Creative Base Tokyo
Born in 1981 in Tokyo, Iwanaka Kanako earned a master’s degree in art history from the Waseda University Graduate School of Letters, Arts and Sciences. From 2012 to 2017, she worked at SHIBAURA HOUSE, a private sector community space. She then turned freelance, working widely as a planner and coordinator for art projects, performing arts producer, and editor. Since 2021, Iwanaka has served on the editorial team at Co-Coco, an online media platform about creative welfare run by Magazine House. In her work, she is interested in forms of expression that emerge from the everyday, and creative practices engaged in collaboration with communities and people from different backgrounds.Last Updated: 2024.06
