Ihara Sayuri

After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts with a degree in musicology, Ihara Sayuri completed master’s and doctoral degrees in music education at the same institution. In her work, she seeks out more interesting ways for children to encounter sounds and musical instruments. Her major publications include In Search of Encounters with Sound / (2021, Mirai) and Why We Have Music (edited by Imagawa Kyoko, Ongaku no Tomo, 2020). Ihara is also a certified nursery teacher and junior high and high school music teacher. She is currently a full-time lecturer at Tamagawa University, teaching childcare workers and educators.
