Goto Akinori

Born in 1984 in Gifu Prefecture, Goto Akinori’s practice brings together a wide range of approaches from old media and materials to contemporary technology to create work dealing with movement, time, and vitality. His major works include ENERGY #01 (2017-), CROSSING #03 (2019), and Rediscovery of anima (2018–). In 2022, Goto’s huge, moving humanoid sculpture work Heading was shown as part of ARTBAY TOKYO. Recent major exhibitions include Illuminating Vacuum Media Arts Exhibition (Hong Kong Arts Centre, 2023), the 2022 Taiwan International Light Festival (National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taichung, 2022), and Ars Electronica Festival 2019 (PostCity Linz, 2019).Last Updated: 2023.08
