Hoshi Irena

Born in 2002, Hoshi Irena is a third-year student in the Department of Intermedia Art at the Tokyo University of the Arts. With a Japanese mother and a Polish father, Hoshi grew up with a deep sense of ambivalence toward her body and identity, which led her to develop a fascination with the idea of abnormality. After graduating from high school, her first discussion with her Polish grandmother inspired her to create robots as a means of exploring non-conventional expressions of love. In 2024, she formed the robot theater group B-FAX. Recently, she has been developing kinetic media that preserve individual existence and memories for future generations.Last Updated: 2025.01
