In collaboration with hospitals and research institutes, the project involved taking out her own frozen cancer cells and culturing them, generating regenerative immune cells from blood-derived iPS cells, and then confronting her cancer cells with these immune cells. Along with revealing the challenges and limitations of this process through video works, the exhibition probed the issues of cell ownership arising from the ethical, customary, and legal restrictions made evident over the course of the research, as well as bioethics and the reality of the self. The project also involved interviews with individuals who have experienced cancer, talks with various kinds of practitioners, and a DIY bio workshop, creating a public platform for discussion.
