Summary<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

An expanded form of land art, Pavilion ZERO was a multifaceted exploration of the nature of the \u201cground\u201d of Japan. At the core of the project was a promenade performance-exhibition in which participants wore head-mounted displays and wandered around Kasai Rinkai Park, guided by Fuse Rintaro and experiencing the land, sea, and air in augmented and virtual realities. Playing with the dual sense of \u201cair\u201d as something that is empty and in the sky, the exhibition \u201ctour\u201d was an experiment in observing a fantasy aquarium in terms of the actual aquarium in the center of the park as well as its surroundings and environment, and past, future, and future. The project also included a planetarium screening that fused narration with moving image, and published discussions and essays by artists, architects, manga artists, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
