This exhibition is the result of dialogue and on-site creative work undertaken during two residencies in Tokyo in May and July 2026. Its starting point is the practice and spirit of the Korean word <em>araboda<\/em>, a linguistically particular verb compound, and seeks to explore relationships and interactions that emerge between us and a world of complex entanglements of human, nonhuman, and technology.<br><br>At the heart of the exhibition is <em>Feed<\/em>, a game installation created by Loopntale based on the encounters and relationships cultivated over the course of three years of visits to Tancheon, a stream in Seoul with restricted access due to redevelopment. The exhibition expands upon the world that <em>Feed<\/em> limns, layering it with a universe inhabited by unknown entities that respond to human emotions.<br><br>The exhibition title is a compound of the Korean verbs \u201csee\u201d and \u201cknow.\u201d\u00a0 Encompassing as it does multiplex meanings like realizing, recognizing, distinguishing, and investigating, and yet used in Korean on an everyday basis, <em>araboda<\/em> is hard to translate in a single word. It carries the nuance of something already present, though only becoming recognized and emerging as an entity through interaction, and as such, demands a physical and active approach.<br><br>Confronting the unknown or what we previously made no effort to know. Updating our own perspectives and behaviors through that engagement.
